Safe Streets for All: 15 Election Priorities

By September 27, 2018 No Comments

Last June, the Toronto Centre for Active Transportation (TCAT) launched a campaign, #BuildTheVisionTO, to promote 15 municipal election priorities and a guidebook to building safe streets for people of all ages and abilities. As election day (October 22!) gets nearer, we are sharing this campaign to ensure voters and candidates alike can see what safe streets and healthy communities look like.

TCAT is distributing a survey to Toronto’s mayoral and city council candidates to gauge their support for the 15 priority actions within seven themes. These priorities will improve road safety, increase physical activity, and build safe and active streets for all ages and abilities. Candidate responses will be published on the TCAT website.

Visit TCAT online to learn more about their election priorities and how they will make a difference in Toronto.

The #BuildTheVisionTO campaign is supported by partners 8 80 Cities, Cycle Toronto, Friends and Families for Safe Streets and Walk Toronto.
